Thanks for the Memories....

We can't take credit for the phrase, some of our special customers brought in this cake on our last day with "Thanks for the Memories" on it. It was such a nice thing to do. We received flowers, cake, cards, brownies, wine, and many kind words during our last days at Scrapbook a la Carte. Immediately upon announcing our store closing we received e-mails from many of our customers. Although it was sad to be closing our store, it was very heart-warming to hear how our store had become a more than just a place to buy things. We were blessed to be a welcomed into so many peoples lives. And we sure enjoyed seeing the photos!!

We were not able to answer every e-mail individually, but please know that we appreciated each and every one. Yes, they will be put in a scrapbook! We had a great ride, and we were lucky to be able to meet so many great people and make so many good friends.

We have been asked if we will be doing any scrapbooking related activities and we know - never say never. This will be the place that any events will be posted. We still have our customer list and any big announcements will definitely have an e-mail sent to you.

Right now, we are adjusting to our new routines. We know that many new opportunities are out there - we just have to keep our eyes open! We hope to see all you ladies out and about town!

So until we meet again.....Thank you so much for the memories......

Final Days.... BIG SAVINGS.....

We are down to our final 2 days at Scrapbook a la Carte. We will be open Tuesday, February 24th at 10:00 am and all our product will be 75% off. We'd rather sell it than have to box it up. So get in early, we still have a lot of great stuff left. Our last day will be Wednesday, February 25th. Anyone who has racks to pick up can do so on Tuesday or Wednesday. They have all be emptied and are ready to go....

We also have some office equipment available: 2 cash registers, a fax machine, a copier, 2 file cabinets, a credit card,machine... you get the idea. We also have some slatwall pieces to sell. You can easily attach it to the wall , add some hooks, and you have an awesome place to organize your embellishments. The hooks and clear shelves are also available. Even our cute little shooping carts can be your for only $60.00 - we only have 2 left

Time is Running Out......

We are down to our last 7 business days for Scrapbook a la Carte! As the items in the store sell down, we are uncovering some things we forgot we had! So there are still a lot of great things popping up everyday. We have only 8 30-tier racks left, so if you are contimplating getting one, don't wait too long. Our 4-sided gridslat units are $100 each, including the wheeled base. Great for using at craft shows. If you have a lot of embellishments, you may want to look at some of our spinner racks - they hold a lot of items in a small amount of space - and for only$5.00 - it's a great deal.

Starting Tuesday, February 17th, everything will be 50% off (except fixtures and samples) We will be accepting, cash, credit or debit cards only. No personal checks.

The Savings are Getting Bigger....

We'd like to thank all of our friends who have stopped by to see us. It's been a bittersweet time for us, but it has been nice seeing everyone. We have sold a lot of racks, but we still have some of the low, 30-tier paper racks still available for $35 each. We have some gridslat available for $25 a section and the hooks for it are $.25 each. So if you are looking for things to organize your home crop space, now's the time to act. We've unloaded our attic and we have some brand new fixtures to sell at rock bottom prices.

We will be increasing our discount to 35% beginning Tuesday, February 10th. And we will no longer be accepting punch cards or garage sale gift certificates. We still have a lot of great merchandise left, so stop in, stock up, and save some money!

Closed Due to Bad Weather...

Sorry that we were not able to get into the store today. Porter County has ordered everyone to stay off the roads unless it's and emergency. We apologize if this caused an inconvenience for anyone, but we do hope everyone stayed safe and warm at home. The weather channel says this lake effect snow should stop later today, so unless something completely unexpected happens, it will be business as usual on Thursday.

The sale continues......

It has been an emotional week for us. Many of our customers have come in to see us and we appreciate all the kind words from everyone. It's nice to know that we have had a positive impact on our little part of the world.

We have sold all our tables and chairs, and many of our paper racks are spoken for, but we do have the low 30-tier 12x12 paper racks still available for $35 each. (these low ones will fit under a standard height countertop) We have hooks of varying lengths, for slatwall and pegboard, our gently used class supplies, punches, trimmers, mats, and many items too numerous to mention. We are finding more things everyday! Our class samples are for sale too! This is all in additional to lots of good paper and embellishments!

We are also expecting our last Sizzix order early this week, so ValuKutz members will have some cool new product if you need to complete your membership. And these new Sizzix will be sold at 25% off as well.

You have until this Saturday - February 7th - to use your garage sale gift certificates and your filled punch cards.

January Recipes.......

With all the activity this week, I forgot to let you know that the January recipes are ready! Sadly, this will be the last set of recipes we will do, but I am confident that all of you will be able to continue - on using your own family recipes. I gave my set to my son and his wife at their wedding shower and Brianne has been making many of the recipes from it. That makes it all worth the effort. It's also a great way to use up your scraps, as one 6x6 recipes doesn't require a lot of materials. If you're not computer savy, hand-write your recipes on the journaling blocks.

Thanks to all the ladies who have ordered these recipes and contributed recipes to the collection. We hope you think of us when you pull out your book. This truly was a labor of love.

Creative Kids

To all my awesome Creative Kids past and present...

I just wanted to say I had a blast with all of you. I loved watching you grow both as a scrapbooker and also into an amazing kid. You all hold a place in my heart and I will never forget you. I am proud of you for learning different techniques and then teaching your moms, grandmas, and sisters how to do them. I hope as you grow that you can look back at your pages and be proud of what you did at such a young age.

You are all awesome in your own way and I hope your creativity never stops growing. Goodbye for now and I hope to see you again!
Love you all!

Miss Debbie

Saying Goodbye....

Dear Friends,

It is with much sadness that Scrapbook a la Carte is announcing that we will be closing our store at the end of February. The current economic climate has made us re-evaluate our business plan. We have been given the opportunity to relinquish our lease before it expires and we have decided to accept the offer. All parties have agreed that we will release our location at the end of February.

We have enjoying helping you preserve your family memories, while creating many of our own. Scrapbook a la Carte was our second home and we have many customers who have become like family to us.. You never know where life will lead you, and we look forward to the next chapter. We will miss you all.

We will be finishing all our January classes and crops. There will be no classes or crops held in February. Our last day of business is tentatively set for Wednesday, February 25th. We will be commencing a sale for all of our merchandise, fixtures, and equipment beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2009, with all items in our store at 25% off. Already discounted items will be an additional 10% off. All punch cards and garage sale gift certificates must be redeemed by Saturday, February 7th. Only full punch cards will be redeemed - you may purchase items at the regular price to fill your punch card, then use that punch card to purchase discounted item. ValuKutz members can select their monthly dies from our selection of Sizzix or Quickutz. No more special orders will be taken, but all pending orders have been placed.

It was a great ride and we have enjoyed this experience.
