Beginning January 2009, Scrapbook a la Carte will be closed on Sundays AND Mondays. We will be here to help you with all your scrapbook needs Tuesday thru Friday 10 am - 7 pm and Saturday 10 am - 4 pm.

Late Opening.....

Due to the ice storm & the bad weather, we are not able to get to the store this morning. According to the weather reports, it is supposed to warm up this afternoon. So the game plan is to get the store open around noon. We are sorry if this caused anyone an inconvenience, but the road conditions are too dangerous at this point.

January Crops...

We have had numerous inquiries, and we have finalized our crop schedule for January.... Everything will be shifted back one week, so the Friday night crops will be the 3rd and the 5th Fridays -

January 16th and January 30th.

The all-day crop will be Saturday, January 24th

Our crops do fill fast, so call and make your reservation. You can reserve your place over the phone. Your Friday crop fee of $10 includes your work space, dinner, soft drinks, and our never to be forgotten chocolate cake! The 12 hour Saturday Crop fee of $20.00 includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, soft drinks and of course - you guessed it - chocolate cake!

December Crop Nites

Our dates for our December crops are Friday, December 5th, and Friday December 12th. Both crops are from 6pm-12am. Your $10.00 includes dinner, soft drinks, and of course chocolate cake! Our 12 hour crops will be returning in January, as well as our Friday nites, so start the year out on the right foot by keeping your albums current.

Christmas Ornaments

If you were not able to attend the class, you can still get the basic supplies to make these adorable ornaments at Scrapbook a la Carte. The bare naked chipboard and die cuts are available, as well as an assortment of ribbons, chalk ink, and stickles to embellish your darling ornaments.

We had several customers who did not receive the e-mail about the 40% OFF on Sizzix and Quickutz sale until it was almost over, so we decided to extend the sale until the end of the month. Here are the samples for Playing with Paper for December. We will be making a dimensional poinsettia card, a cute Chinese take out container decked out for holiday giving, and a set of paper blocks that make a darling home decor item.

Crop Nite

We have a few openings for the crop tomorrow night - November 21st from 6pm - 12am. Reservations can be taken tonight, Nov 20th, until 7:00pm. Take the opportunity to have a meal cooked for you and no interruptions. That leaves lots of time to get your holiday crafts completed. Call 219-476-0815 to secure your spot.

Christmas Ornament Class

Christmas Ornament Class Tuesday, December 2nd
1pm and 6pm $25.00
These cute ornaments will make a great gift for you, or someone else. There are a total of 20 ornaments that can be made as well as a tin to store them in. The paper is the new Christmas collection from Cosmo Cricket. The muted holiday colors and patterns take you back to simpler times. Some ornaments have "shaker" centers, this a great technique to learn.

Playing with Paper Thanksgiving Fall

Additional Crop Nite in November...

Our crop on Friday, November 14th is sold out, but we don't want to leave anyone out, so we've added another crop nite to our November schedule. Friday, November 21st is now open for reservations. The all-day crop is Saturday, November 22, so you can leave your things here and come back the next day. It's a great chance to finish your Christmas cards or other holiday projects before the pace picks up before the holidays. Our final crop for the month will be Friday, November 28th. I don't know what the menu is, but it won't be turkey!

Christmas Card Workshop tools and supplies needed

If you are attending the Christmas Card Workshop Saturday November 8th you will need the following supplies or tools in addition to the basic tool kit. Green and Red pens or pencils. Chalk ink or ink in the following colors, charcoal, chestnut roan, and dark brown. Stickles, crystal and platinum. Small paint brush, and pop dots. If you not have these supplies they are available to purchase at SALC. See you Saturday.

Our Christmas Card Workshop is this Saturday! We only have 2 spots left. This workshop enables you to make 48 cards (including envelopes) in one day. We have most of the pieces pre-cut, and we've even done the stamping for you! You get the fun of assembling these cards and adding your own personal touch. After the first 2 hours of instructions, you are invited to stay and finish your cards, or you can take take them home with you to finish later. The cost is only $58.oo. Yellow Bicycle Christmas Magic

The new Christmas collection from Yellow Bicycle has arrived and it's just gorgeous. The colors are traditional and the design is classic. Pictures can't do this collection justice but it does give you an idea. There are many more embellishments and stickers then pictured here.

Christmas Card workshop

We still have a few spots left for the Christmas card workshop on Saturday, November 8th. The workshop starts at 10 am. We will spend the first two hours making one of each card, the rest of the time is yours to complete your cards or you can take them home to complete. October Recipes are ready to pick up

Hi Ladies, as a reminder the October recipes are ready for pick up. We also have a few sets available to purchase for $15.00 a set. For those who don't already know, every month we create four sets of 6 x 6 recipe cards featuring an appetizer, main dish, side dish, and dessert. If you would like to receive them monthly call SALC and sign up for a subscription.

Camp out "Update"

The first annual SALC Camp out was a blast. We all had so much fun cropping for 30 hours. How can you go wrong with good friends, food, and scrapbooking. We challenged the ladies to create a page layout using the EK Success ribbon belts. They could choose pink or blue. The results were amazing and creative. One winner was chosen by her piers. Sonya Welton won with her "Girl Scouting ties us together" layout. Visit SALC soon to see her layout as well as the other layouts created by our other creative Happy Campers.

Closing at 5:00pm on Halloween....

ScrapBOOk a la Carte will be closing at 5:00 pm on Friday, October 31st. We will re-open Saturday and resume our usual hours. We wish you all a safe & spooky Halloween.

Christmas Card Workshop...

It's time for our 4th Annual Christmas Card Workshop. Saturday, November 8th from 10am - 4pm. Make 8 cards of 6 different designs - that's a totals of 48 cards - in one afternoon. The envelopes are also included. We will spend the first 2 hours of the day making one of each of the cards. You can then stay and complete all your cards, or take your pre-cut kit home with you to finish at your leisure. We do most of the work, but you can take all the credit from your family and friends! The cost of the class is $58.00. Basic tool kit and some additional supplies will be needed. There are only 12 spots available. Get your reservation in quickly.

Owl Mini Album

Owls are all the rage right now so be sure and add this mini owl album to your collection. This mini album is full of fun embellishments. I have filled it with some of my favorite quotes. You could make it into a mini quote book as I have or add small photos and journeling to create a one of a kind gift album. Please bring your basic tool kit to class as well as a glass or self healing mat, craft knife, pop dots, liquid craft glue, Basic Grey file set, Chestnut roan and Dark Brown chalk ink. More Memory Mist.....

We restocked the colors of Memory Mist, including the silver, gold and copper metallic. These mists are great for covering chipboard in the quickest and easiest way possible. And it looks sooo goood! Layer your colors to get an endless variety of effects. We have gone thru a few hundred misters of this already, so stop in soon for the best possible selection - they do fly out of here! If you've used up one of your misters, come in and get it refilled. Best couple of bucks you'll spend all week!
